Getting Started with Scratch

Scratch Info

There is 10 types of scripts, and 15 categories of costumes. In the sounds tab you can play, pause, stop, add a new sound and search sounds. In the backdrops tab you can edit the color and such and there is 13 categories of backdrops. In the sprites tab you can make them move change costumes and glide around.

Photo Editing

In the application Photoshop I edited the three pictures. In the picture of the Happy thanksgiving sign I changed the color of the pumpkin from orange to blue. In the picture of the turkey i changed it to purple. The family picture i changed the saturation and color to make it cooler and blue.

HTML Quiz

I took the test and didn't know most of it because we haven't gone over it yet. Some of the things I did know like tags that we have done already like <br>, <i>.

Intro to HTML

Today during the lesson I saw the tools:

Tutorial: For the tutorial I changed it to blur like the directions said to do. 

Website 1. On the Boston Globe website I changed the front page headline to information about me. 

Website 2. I changed the Home tab to PIZZA on edline. 

Website 3. I made my blog say Purple Zebra Blog instead of Exploring Comp. Sci.

Artificial Intellagence

The main problem with the program Eliza's, functionality is that it only has a limited supply of responses. It doesn't elaborate on anything and it is frequently grammatically incorrect. It constantly repeats what you say in question form so the conversation doesn't go anywhere. When I used Alice it made a lot more sense but it still didn't carry a conversation well.

20Q

We did Sports, TV, Movies, Music, People, and Disney. It could never guess the people we chose but in all the other areas the 20Q website won. In the people section we did Chad Micheal Murray and kept asking if we were female actresses even though in the beginning we said we were male. I thought it was weird that they guessed girls when in the original questionnaire we said male.

Create Your Own

I made a rainbow design using the virtual bead loom grade 4-12 math software. I first designed the pattern on paper using a ruler and colored pencils. I used the rectangles shortcut to make the design more efficiently. I did six rows of each color, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.

African Corn Rows

I originally didn't understand the Integers section so I was doing one by one. I was getting tired of doing that so I decided to play with it until I figured it out. By the last row it took me under a minute to complete it because I knew what numbers to plug in and where.

Rug Weaver

I have progressed since my first one by using the rectangle, line and triangle techniques.

Dog Woven Basket

I was challenged when making this weave when I had to know whether to change the x or the y in order for it to move up and down or side to side.  I eventually got used to it and I got into a pattern so it was easy. Also I made a whole row the wrong color and there is no way to just click and change the color you have to do the whole thing over in order to change the color, so that was annoying. 

New Technology

In the past week Apple has released with the news of a new iPhone.  The iPhone 6s. It has a lot of new gadgets, including the fact that you can do things quicker by double tapping on the screen. Also Apple said "The only thing that changed is everything." The is a new way that texting, picture taking, and just navigating around your device.

My name is Natalie. I am 16 years old and a Junior at RMHS. Something that might surprise you is that I have the same birthday as my mom. I am taking this class so i will be more familiar with computer. I am looking forward to trying new tools on a computer and finding out new information.
